The Ten Commandments of Care

The All-American Care Centers want nothing less than the absolute best for our aging population. To help achieve that goal, we have prepared this list of the ten most critical and fundamental elements of care for any patient in any nursing home. We invite you to use this list as a test to determine the best facility for you or a loved one. The facility should:

  • Be close to home to make visitation easy, and should offer what we call the four “R's”:
    • Recuperative services to medically treat patients recovering from recent illnesses with plans to eventually discharge them back to the community, or to our restorative programming.
    • Rehabilitation services to initiate and carry out a therapy treatment plan that will eventually discharge patients to a lower level of dependency, either in our facility, back home or to an assisted living facility
    • Restoration services to improve patients with chronic diseases who need to be more functional and independent
    • Reintegration services to assist recovering or rehabilitated patients to adjust to returning home or to lower levels of care

2. Give you a care plan, upon inquiry, that will describe the following:

  • Diagnostics on the medical cause of the problems
  • A list of the problems to be addressed
  • A list of the treatment programs that will be carried out with a schedule of compliance
  • A complete list of the tasks to be completed for each program and the expected professional staff type to implement each task
  • A schedule for carrying out each task and the duration of the interventions
  • An approximate cost of the care for the estimated duration of the episode
